PROJECT UPDATE

CHANGE OF DATE FOR THE AGM.

The first Annual General Meeting is to be held on Friday May 30th at 7pm in the Llanerfyl village hall.
Please see further posts for details. This is to allow the Trustees to consider the latest proposals for development.

The Trust has commissioned a development plan for the project that is being produced by Resources For Change (www.r4c.org.uk) and part funded by the Countryside Council for Wales. (www.ccw.gov.uk)

This is drawing on the research and plans already developed by the Trust and is hoped to result in a management tool for the Trustees to take the project forward into 2009 and beyond. It has already instigated a number of reviews and a new format for the Trusts work is being developed. This proposal will be presented to all members with voting rights before the meeting.

It is planned to present this document at the first annual meeting.

This year Trust members have :
attended two Industry Days at local schools and hosted a half day school visit to the site (partnered with Careers Wales)
attended a Community Land Trust Conference (hosted by Land For People)
began a training programme provided by Powys Association of Voluntary Organizations

whilst installing 500 meters of post and rail fence to stock proof the wetland area for wildlife conservation, funded by Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust and Tyddyn Bryn Mawr Ltd.
This fencing project would not have been possible without the kind help and support of local contractors, farmers and businesses who donated time and machinery and Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust who instigated and grant aided this project.
